Why I love being a PTA:
As an assistant I don't always get to meet the patient on their first day, but a smile/wave from across the room feels like a warm welcome. When I get the opportunity to work with them in upcoming sessions, I have the ability to follow up on their needs and goals. Not only do I love to see and share objective gains, it's even more rewarding to see progress in more functional ways. The best is when a patient ends the session complimenting the treatment and exercise creativity, and I'm thanking them for putting in such good effort and hard work.
How I stay active: I grew up playing soccer then played a few years of rugby at Central Washington University. I have always been athletic and interested in all sports. In more recent years, my wife and I have participated in several 5ks in the community which is always a fun time, especially when they are dog friendly and we can include our black lab/mix, Cooper. With our growing family, we look forward to getting back to hiking, going to the beach, and travel whenever possible.
Interests: The beautiful thing about life is all that it offers. Whether through food, hobbies, travel, human interaction, etc, there is always something to learn and experience. I consider myself well rounded with interests and skills that include, crochet, wood working, yard/housework, sports, hiking, photography, guitar/ukulele, and travel. I'm always open to new ideas!

Why I love being a OT:
I love being an Occupational Therapist because I get to creatively work with my clients/patients to help them return to the activities of daily living they want to, and tailor their rehab to them as an individual. They come in with injuries, post op or with conditions that are impacting their lives, and leave therapy with the tools to self manage their situation with a home program.
