OPT also helps dancers who are not injured. We use biomechanics and physiology to individually assess your abilities and create a custom program to maximize your movement, control, improve the finesse of your adagio and increase the confidence of your dance by utilizing muscle recruitment, joint mechanics, and manual therapy. We offer one-time consultations, individual plans, 

Meet our Performing Arts Therapist

Kayla Freeman, PT, DPT

Kayla is a physical therapist with an orthopedic clinical specialty certification and a passion for working with dancers and other artistic athletes. She has a BA in Performing Arts/Dance from Colorado State University and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from University of Colorado. 

Kayla is committed to learning the latest advances in dance medicine through her memberships with the International Association of Dance Medicine (IADMS), the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries based in New York City, and Seattle Performing Arts Medicine Association (SeaPAM). 

Kayla has cared for dancers throughout the Seattle area as a Physical Therapist and Clinical Director of Outpatient Physical Therapy in Renton, backstage physical therapist for the Paramount Theater touring Broadway performers, and SeaPam volunteer. 

Kayla has studied classical and contemporary dance techniques, taught dance, and performed in a preprofessional touring company throughout Colorado.
