After serving in the army, Michael found himself working in a special education classroom helping kids accomplish their IEP goals. He enjoyed this so much that he decided to return to school to become a physical therapist.
Michael earned his undergraduate degree from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University. He is also a graduate of The Jackson Clinics Orthopedic Residency Program and one of a small number of physical therapists who are Board Certified in both Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy.
At OPT, Michael appreciates the culture of positive energy and believing in the mission and vision of the company. Being able to educate, coach and encourage patients to get back to what they do better, stronger and without pain is what he values most about being a physical therapist.
He and his wife love to spoil their backyard chickens and work on their tiny urban farm in their small yard. They stay active on the trails with long distance hiking and cycling, and enjoy traveling to visit family members living in Europe.
Two interesting facts about Michael: He is an Iraq war veteran and he has visited all 48 states of the continental US!
